Yellow Fungus Peach Gum Soup

2-3 servings


  • Yellow fungus: 1 tael
  • Peach gum: 1 tael (soaked in water until soft)
  • Lotus seed: 1 tael
  • Chinese Yam: 1 tael
  • Dried lily blubs: 1 tael
  • A few tangerine peels
  • Dried Conch meat: 6 pieces
  • Lean pork or spare ribs


  1. Blanch the lean meat or ribs, and set aside.
  2. It is easy to prepare yellow fungus, just soak in water and leave it on for about 5-6 hours. The time seems to be long, but the yellow fungus need to be soaked in order to change their volume from one to four.
  3. When washing peach gum, it is best to soak it in cold water for more than 10 hours in advance. When soaking peach gum, it is best to turn it clockwise, so that impurities in peach gum can fall off better.
  4. Pick up the soaked peach gum, use a small clip to remove the black spots on the peach gum, try not to take it with your hands, to avoid the peach gum being scattered.
  5. The tangerine peel is soaked, and the rest of the material is washed for later use.
  6. Boil 1.2 litres of water (12 Chinese bowls of water), add all the ingredients, boil on high heat for 15 minutes, then turn to slow heat for 3 hours, season with salt and serve.
